Does your credit score affect your opportunity of buying a house?

What is the lowest credit score you can have to buy a house? Is it difficult to get a loan with bad credit?
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Yes, it is more difficult to get a loan when buying a house if you have bad credit. Which also means it will be more difficult to get a car loan without collateral. Several things to keep in mind is how much of a loan you need, how much you can pay for deposit and how bad is your credit. Another condition is how desperate the owners are to get out of the house.

So there are factors involved. In a large city that's popular like LA it probably will be more difficult. But a small city out in the boondocks or small towns you might have a better chance of getting that house. Again, factors play into it, credit is a big factor.

Good luck!
